I’ve gone through the current reporting, Reddit/GamingLeaksAndRumours discussions, ResetEra, and the claims from the main insiders. The key distinction is between an actual leak and something that is simply being predicted by fans/media.

Sony has now officially confirmed two back-to-back broadcasts on September 3. The first is the regular State of Play and will end with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The second is State of Play Japan, focused on upcoming games from Japan and Asia.

So this tracker starts after the official confirmation and focuses on what may still be leaked.

Sony has not revealed the running time or any other games.

🟢 TIER 1 — LEAKS THAT HAVE ALREADY HIT

🦅 1. NASH WEEDLE — SEPTEMBER 3

Original claim:

August 2, 2026

Nash Weedle reportedly stated that a State of Play would take place on:

September 3

At the time this was treated as a relatively questionable leak because Sony had not announced anything.

Now Sony has officially confirmed September 3.

RESULT:

✅ HIT

This is the most important pre-announcement leak currently on the board.

A Reddit tracking thread preserved the original claim and notes that the date was posted roughly 29 days before Sony’s announcement.

Reliability adjustment

Nash Weedle has a mixed reputation. Community discussion specifically points out that he has both notable hits and notable misses, with some of his stronger history being Nintendo-related rather than PlayStation.

🟢 2. NATETHEHATE — SEPTEMBER SHOW

NateTheHate posted on August 30:

he was working to confirm the date, but a September State of Play looked “incredibly likely and soon.”

Importantly, he did NOT initially give September 3.

Sony confirmed the event the following day.

RESULT:

✅ SEPTEMBER CLAIM HIT

But:

❌ September 3 was NOT his leak.

That’s an important distinction.

NateTheHate = September prediction/insider confirmation

Nash Weedle = specific September 3 date

That makes the two claims complementary rather than identical.

🟡 3. “INTERGALACTIC WILL BE THERE”

This is currently the biggest leak/rumour to investigate.

The claim circulating before and immediately after Sony’s announcement is that:

🐺 Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

could appear at the September State of Play.

Insider Gaming currently lists Intergalactic among the games being rumoured, while other coverage describes it as one of the main games fans expect.

There is also a Reddit post claiming:

“Intergalactic will be the closer game for September SoP”

But the post itself explicitly says the information came from “some guy told me” and has no identifiable source.

🚨 IMPORTANT

That claim is now structurally contradicted by Sony’s official announcement.

Sony explicitly says the first State of Play will:

conclude with Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Therefore:

❌ Intergalactic cannot be the official closer of the main show.

It could still appear before FFVII Revelation.

Current status:

🟡 4. THE “INTERGALACTIC MOCAP” SIGNAL

This is where the rumour becomes more interesting.

Naughty Dog recently announced that motion capture for Intergalactic had reached a major milestone.

That triggered speculation that the timing was deliberate and that Sony could be preparing a reveal.

However, ResetEra discussion contains the opposite interpretation:

Naughty Dog may simply be signalling that development is progressing while effectively telling people not to expect it at this State of Play.

That interpretation is particularly interesting because Sony’s announcement came immediately afterwards.

🟡 5. GOD OF WAR: LAUFEY

This is probably the strongest first-party candidate after Intergalactic.

The game was officially revealed during the June State of Play. Sony describes it as the next mainline God of War and has already opened wishlisting.

The September show would be an obvious opportunity for:

• gameplay

• story

• combat

• pre-orders

• editions

• additional release information

Some current reporting specifically highlights God of War Laufey as a likely candidate.

But:

There is no actual leak confirming it.

So:

🟡 6. MARVEL’S WOLVERINE

This one is interesting because of timing.

Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled to launch September 15, meaning the State of Play happens only 12 days before release.

PlayStation published a substantial Wolverine feature on August 28 covering Logan’s mutant abilities and game features.

That could mean:

Scenario A

Sony has already done the final information push → no State of Play appearance.

Scenario B

Sony is preparing a final launch trailer → State of Play.

CD-Action similarly expects a launch trailer either during the show or shortly afterwards.

🟡 7. UNTIL DAWN 2

Until Dawn 2 was officially revealed during the June showcase and is scheduled for 2027.

This makes it one of the games that could logically receive another trailer.

But I currently have:

This is one of the more interesting names because TheSixthAxis specifically mentions Fairgame$ as a gamble for the show.

However, this is editorial speculation, not an insider leak.

🟠 9. KENA: SCARS OF KOSMORA

Kena: Scars of Kosmora appears repeatedly in fan predictions surrounding the show.

But I haven’t found a credible insider directly claiming:

“Kena will be at September 3 State of Play.”

The current evidence is therefore weak.

🟡 10. PHANTOM BLADE ZERO

This is a special case.

It absolutely fits State of Play Japan, but the game already received its own dedicated State of Play gameplay deep dive on August 17. PlayStation’s official State of Play archive confirms that presentation.

That actually lowers the probability of another substantial appearance only two weeks later.

🟡 11. ONIMUSHA: WAY OF THE SWORD

This is much more interesting for State of Play Japan.

Sony’s current PlayStation Blog coverage is actively featuring Onimusha: Way of the Sword, including a new trailer and demo-related information.

That makes it a logical candidate.

But again:

No direct leak found.

Status:

🟡 STRONG SHOWCASE CANDIDATE

🟠 12. RESIDENT EVIL

This is classic State of Play speculation.

Capcom has multiple projects that would fit the Japan showcase.

But after searching specifically for a September 3 leak, I don’t see a credible source currently saying:

“Resident Evil is confirmed for State of Play.”

🔴 13. BLOODBORNE

Let’s kill this one early.

There is currently:

❌ no credible September 3 leak

❌ no reliable insider confirmation

❌ no evidence from Sony

❌ no evidence from FromSoftware

There is plenty of community desire.

That’s different.

Same situation.

There is no credible September 3 leak connecting Uncharted 5 to this showcase.

If Naughty Dog appears, the evidence currently points much more naturally toward:

Uncharted 5.

No credible September 3 leak found.

Insomniac’s future projects remain a major source of speculation, but there is no strong evidence tying Spider-Man/Venom to this event.

🟠 16. GTA VI

This one deserves a separate category because it’s not impossible.

The game was heavily featured during Gamescom week and Rockstar doesn’t normally need PlayStation’s State of Play to reveal GTA information.

Game journalists have mentioned GTA VI as something they’d love to see, but they frame it as unlikely/speculative.

But his broader reliability remains mixed, so we should not automatically upgrade every future claim from him. Community discussion specifically warns that his record contains both successes and failures.

Result:

But he didn’t publicly confirm September 3 before Sony did.

🥉 Angie — ResetEra

This one is extremely interesting.

Angie has maintained a running list of previous State of Play closers and had already predicted:

September 3, 2026 → Final Fantasy VII Revelation

The wording evolved as Sony confirmed the format, but the important part is that the FFVII closer prediction was circulating before Sony’s announcement.

ResetEra’s current discussion documents the prediction and the subsequent correction that FFVII is the closer of the first State of Play, not Japan.

🚨 THE BIGGEST ANOMALY

Here’s the thing I find most interesting.
