🚕 CRAZY TAXI: WORLD TOUR — THE CLASSIC ARCADE SERIES RETURNS AT GAMESCOM 2026

SEGA has brought one of its most iconic arcade franchises back into the spotlight at Gamescom 2026.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour received a brand-new trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live, giving fans their first proper look at the game’s online multiplayer mode.
🚕 CRAZY DRIVING IS BACK
The new game returns to the fast-paced formula that made Crazy Taxi a classic.
Players take control of taxis, pick up passengers and race through busy city environments while trying to deliver them as quickly — and as spectacularly — as possible.
The new trailer shows multiple taxis racing through the same environment, performing stunts and competing around the city.
🌍 A WORLD TOUR
This time, the name really means something.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour takes the franchise beyond a single city.
SEGA has confirmed that the final game will feature five different cities, with Gamescom visitors getting the opportunity to play one of the new locations in the playable demo.
The game combines:
🚕 High-speed taxi driving
🌆 Open-city environments
💨 Extreme stunts
💰 Passenger deliveries
🎯 Time-based challenges
🌍 Multiple cities
🎮 Online multiplayer
🔥 FIRST LOOK AT ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
The biggest Gamescom reveal is the franchise’s first-ever online multiplayer mode.
The new footage shows several taxis racing through the same city, suggesting that players will be able to compete or cooperate in chaotic multiplayer sessions.
SEGA has confirmed that online multiplayer is a completely new addition to the series.
This could transform the traditional Crazy Taxi formula into a much larger multiplayer experience.
🎮 PLAYABLE AT GAMESCOM 2026
Crazy Taxi: World Tour isn’t just being shown in a trailer.
It is playable at SEGA’s Gamescom booth in Hall 7, alongside titles including:
👽 Alien: Isolation 2
🎭 Persona 4 Revival
🕵️ STRANGER THAN HEAVEN
⚔️ Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000
Visitors can experience a new map from the game before its full release.
The official Gamescom database also lists Crazy Taxi: World Tour among the featured games of the 2026 event.
🎵 THE SOUNDTRACK RETURNS
Music has always been an important part of the Crazy Taxi identity.
The original series became famous for its energetic rock soundtrack, and SEGA has confirmed that the new game continues to build on that musical identity.
Combined with high-speed driving, crazy stunts and chaotic city traffic, the soundtrack is expected to remain an important part of the experience.
👤 A NEW STORY
World Tour isn’t simply an arcade collection of races.
The game introduces a story following Axel, who travels around the world while building his taxi business.
Players will therefore have more of a structured adventure alongside the traditional arcade-style gameplay.
🎮 PLATFORMS
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is confirmed for:
🎮 PlayStation 5
🟩 Xbox Series X|S
💻 PC via Steam
🎮 Nintendo Switch 2
📅 RELEASE DATE
🚕 COMING IN 2027
SEGA has confirmed a 2027 release, but an exact launch date has not yet been announced.
Players can already wishlist the game on the announced platforms.
🔥 WHY CRAZY TAXI: WORLD TOUR IS INTERESTING
The new game is attempting to modernise one of SEGA’s classic arcade franchises without losing what made it special.
The formula remains simple:
Pick up passengers → drive insanely fast → perform crazy stunts → deliver them → earn money → do it again.
But now players have:
🌍 Multiple cities
🚕 A new story
🎮 Online multiplayer
💨 Modern driving mechanics
🎵 High-energy music
🏙️ Larger environments
