🌀 CONTROL RESONANT — REMEDY’S NEXT PARANORMAL ADVENTURE SHINES AT GAMESCOM 2026

One of the most intriguing games being showcased at Gamescom 2026 is CONTROL Resonant, the highly anticipated sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s Control.

Gamescom marks an important milestone for the game: Level Infinite is presenting the first public hands-on demo, allowing visitors to actually play the sequel for the first time.

🏙️ WELCOME TO A DISTORTED MANHATTAN

CONTROL Resonant takes the series beyond the walls of the Oldest House.

Players take control of Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s brother, as he explores a Manhattan transformed by a massive paranormal disaster.

The city has become a surreal and dangerous environment filled with supernatural phenomena, strange creatures and reality-warping threats.

🧠 DYLAN FADEN TAKES THE LEAD

For the first time, Dylan becomes the playable protagonist of a mainline Control experience.

His journey is directly connected to the events and mythology established in the original game.

Players will encounter:

  • 🧠 Paranatural abilities

  • 👁️ The Hiss

  • 🍄 The Mold

  • 🌀 Reality-altering phenomena

  • 👹 New supernatural enemies

  • ⚔️ Powerful Resonants

Dylan’s story also gives Remedy an opportunity to explore the Faden family and the wider mythology of the Control universe in considerably greater depth.

⚔️ NEW COMBAT SYSTEM

CONTROL Resonant retains the supernatural action that defined the original while introducing new abilities and weapons.

Dylan can combine paranormal powers with a shape-shifting melee weapon, creating new possibilities for close-range combat.

The game therefore combines:

Supernatural abilities + firearms + melee combat + environmental interaction.

👹 THE HISS AND THE MOLD RETURN

The paranormal disaster has created new threats throughout Manhattan.

During Gamescom previews, Remedy showed an area of a Manhattan park covered in a strange blue Mold, with new Mold-based enemies attacking Dylan.

The Hiss also remains an important part of the game’s supernatural conflict.

But players can expect new enemies and phenomena that expand the mythology beyond the original game.

🌀 THE RESONANTS

One of the major new concepts introduced in the sequel is the Resonants.

These powerful entities represent some of the game’s biggest supernatural threats and are expected to provide major encounters throughout Dylan’s journey.

The latest Gamescom footage gives players a closer look at the strange creatures and environments Dylan will have to face.

🎵 THE NEW GAMESCOM TRAILER

CONTROL Resonant also received a new “Altered State” trailer during Gamescom.

The trailer features music from The Prodigy and focuses heavily on the game’s surreal action, paranormal environments and Dylan’s journey through Manhattan.

The presentation reinforces Remedy’s distinctive visual identity:

🌃 Distorted cities

🌀 Impossible architecture

👁️ Paranormal entities

💥 Supernatural combat

🎵 Atmospheric music

🧩 Mystery and investigation

🎮 PLAYABLE AT GAMESCOM 2026

This is one of the most important aspects of CONTROL Resonant’s Gamescom appearance.

Level Infinite is offering the first public hands-on demo of the game in Hall 6.

Visitors can experience the sequel directly and get their first opportunity to play as Dylan.

That makes CONTROL Resonant one of the most interesting games to visit on the Gamescom show floor.

💻 PC TECHNOLOGY PUSHED FURTHER

NVIDIA has also confirmed new PC technology for CONTROL Resonant.

The game is receiving support for DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and path tracing, allowing compatible GeForce RTX hardware to push the game’s lighting and visual effects even further.

For a game built around distorted environments, supernatural effects and changing reality, advanced lighting could make a particularly noticeable difference.

📅 RELEASE

CONTROL Resonant is scheduled to launch in 2026 for:

  • 🎮 PlayStation 5

  • 🟩 Xbox Series X|S

  • 💻 PC

The game is being developed by Remedy Entertainment.

🔥 WHY CONTROL RESONANT IS ONE TO WATCH

The sequel is expanding almost every major element that made Control distinctive:

Oldest House → Manhattan

Jesse → Dylan

Telekinetic powers → Expanded paranormal abilities

The Hiss → New supernatural threats

Single mysterious location → A distorted city

The result could be a considerably larger and more ambitious paranormal action experience.

🎮 GAMESCOM 2026 VERDICT

CONTROL Resonant is one of the standout playable experiences at Gamescom 2026.

The first public hands-on demo gives players a chance to finally experience Dylan’s abilities, explore the transformed Manhattan and see how Remedy is expanding the Control universe.
