Bye Bye Bonnie: A Charming Co-Op Golf Adventure With a Wild Twist

Brainwash Gang Unveils a Hand-Drawn Golf Adventure at Gamescom 2026

The Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026 delivered one of its most charming surprises with the World Premiere of Bye Bye Bonnie, a cooperative golfing adventure from Brainwash Gang and Raw Fury.

Rather than presenting golf as a traditional sports simulation, Bye Bye Bonnie takes the concept in a much more unusual direction, combining cooperative gameplay, hand-drawn visuals and adventure elements.

The result is a game that immediately stands apart from conventional golf titles.

Golf, But Not As You Know It

At first glance, Bye Bye Bonnie might look like a relaxing golf game.

But the World Premiere trailer quickly makes it clear that this is something considerably stranger.

Players will explore unusual environments while attempting to complete golfing challenges, with the game’s cooperative mechanics adding another layer to the experience.

The emphasis appears to be on fun, experimentation and teamwork, rather than achieving the perfect score.

A Hand-Drawn World

One of the game’s strongest visual features is its distinctive hand-drawn art style.

Characters and environments have a deliberately illustrated appearance, giving Bye Bye Bonnie an almost animated quality.

This artistic direction gives the game an identity that immediately separates it from the photorealistic presentation commonly associated with modern sports games.

The world looks colourful, playful and full of personality.

Built for Co-Op

Cooperative gameplay is at the centre of the experience.

Players will be able to work together to overcome challenges and navigate the game’s unusual environments.

That means success may not simply depend on hitting the ball accurately.

Communication and coordination could be just as important.

The developers appear to be creating a game where unexpected situations can become part of the fun.

An Adventure Around the Golf Course

Bye Bye Bonnie is described as a cooperative golfing adventure, meaning that the golf itself is only part of the experience.

The environments appear designed to encourage exploration and interaction.

Players aren’t simply moving from one conventional hole to another.

Instead, the game seems to turn the entire environment into part of the challenge.

That opens the door to unusual obstacles, unexpected routes and plenty of opportunities for cooperative problem-solving.

Brainwash Gang Returns

The game comes from Brainwash Gang, an independent studio known for distinctive and unconventional projects.

The developer’s previous work has often combined unusual visual styles with experimental gameplay concepts.

Bye Bye Bonnie fits that philosophy perfectly.

The project demonstrates that a game does not necessarily need a huge budget or photorealistic graphics to stand out at one of the industry’s biggest events.

Sometimes a strong artistic identity is enough.

A Very Different Sports Game

The sports genre is usually dominated by football, basketball, racing and realistic sports simulations.

Bye Bye Bonnie takes a completely different approach.

It combines:

  • Golf

  • Adventure

  • Cooperative gameplay

  • Exploration

  • Hand-drawn artwork

  • Humour

  • Unusual environments

That combination makes it one of the more distinctive announcements from the Future Games Show.

Coming Soon to PC

Bye Bye Bonnie is currently announced for PC.

A specific release date has not yet been revealed, with the game currently listed as coming soon.

Players can already keep an eye on the project through its Steam presence as development continues.

Why Bye Bye Bonnie Is Worth Watching

The biggest strength of Bye Bye Bonnie is its personality.

The game doesn’t appear to be trying to compete with traditional golf simulations.

Instead, it is creating its own category somewhere between a sports game, an adventure and a cooperative party experience.

That could make it particularly appealing to players looking for something they can enjoy with friends rather than another serious competitive sports title.

Gamescom 2026 World Premiere

Bye Bye Bonnie was one of the 13 World Premiere trailers presented during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026. The showcase featured more than 40 games in total.

Its reveal demonstrates just how diverse this year’s presentation was — with everything from dark fantasy and horror to strategy, shooters and now cooperative golf adventures.
