Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms — A Beautiful New Co-Op Adventure Revealed at Gamescom 2026

World Premiere #2 from the Future Games Show
Gamescom 2026 has delivered another intriguing world premiere.
Following the reveal of Wolcen II, the Future Games Show introduced Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms, the next chapter in Navegante’s hand-drawn adventure series.
The sequel combines Metroidvania exploration, environmental puzzles, action and cooperative gameplay, while introducing a completely new setting and a story built around parallel dimensions.
The game is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. (Inven Global)
A New Adventure for Greak and Adara
The story follows siblings Greak and Adara after they escape their invaded homeland.
Their journey takes them to a mysterious new world known as Synoraz.
But their arrival does not go according to plan.
A powerful Ilikun sorcerer separates the siblings across parallel dimensions, forcing them to explore different versions of the same interconnected world.
This creates the foundation for one of the sequel’s most interesting gameplay ideas: the two characters can experience different paths, objects, enemies and environmental challenges within their respective dimensions.
Two Characters. Two Dimensions. One Adventure.
One of the biggest changes from the original game is the introduction of cooperative gameplay.
Players can experience Greak 2 in three different ways:
Single-player, switching between Greak and Adara.
Local co-op, allowing two players to play together.
Online co-op, bringing the adventure to players remotely.
Each character has unique abilities, meaning cooperation is not simply about having two characters on screen.
Players must understand how their abilities complement each other and use them together to progress through the world. (GamingBolt)
Hand-Drawn Fantasy Comes Back
Visually, Greak 2 continues the hand-drawn artistic identity that helped distinguish Greak: Memories of Azur.
The world combines colourful environments with darker fantasy elements, creating a distinctive 2D presentation.
The trailer showcased the game’s exploration, platforming, combat and environmental puzzles while introducing the new setting of Synoraz.
The Storm Eagles
But the adventure is about more than simply escaping the parallel dimensions.
During their journey, Greak and Adara encounter the legendary Storm Eagles, an ancient species facing extinction.
The siblings are tasked with earning the trust of these mysterious creatures and protecting the final remaining Storm Egg.
This gives the adventure a larger purpose beyond simply surviving the dangers of Synoraz.
Built Around Cooperation
The game’s puzzle design appears to be one of its strongest features.
Certain obstacles require players to combine the abilities of Greak and Adara, while the parallel-dimension system introduces additional layers to exploration.
The result could create situations where what one character discovers or does in their dimension affects the progression of the other.
This is a natural evolution of the character-switching mechanics from the original game.
From Single-Player to Co-Op
The original Greak: Memories of Azur was primarily a single-player puzzle-platforming adventure.
With Greak 2, Navegante is significantly expanding that concept.
The addition of local and online co-op could make the sequel particularly interesting for players looking for a smaller-scale adventure they can experience with a friend.
At the same time, the developers have confirmed that the game remains playable entirely in single-player. (Inven Global)

Why You Should Watch Greak 2
Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms may not be the biggest production revealed at Gamescom 2026, but it could become one of the most interesting.
Its combination of:
hand-drawn art + Metroidvania exploration + environmental puzzles + parallel dimensions + co-op
gives the sequel a distinctive identity.
For fans of atmospheric 2D adventures and cooperative games, this is definitely one to keep on the radar.
