Forsaken Kingdom is an original dark fantasy novella set in the ruined realm of Valedorn — a once-glorious kingdom consumed by war, forbidden magic, and the curse of an ancient crown.
The story follows Kael Veyr, a lone warrior returning to a land that has almost disappeared beneath ash, mist, and legend. His journey leads him through shattered cities, forgotten bridges, haunted halls, and the remains of a royal dynasty whose final decisions changed the fate of the entire kingdom.
Along the way, Kael joins forces with the mysterious Mira Venn and encounters the spectral presence of Queen Elira, whose connection to the fallen throne reveals that the destruction of Valedorn was not simply the result of invasion or civil war. At the centre of the mystery lies the Crown of Vhar, an ancient relic tied to the rise of the terrifying Hollow King and to a curse that has survived long after the kingdom itself fell.
Across twelve chapters and an epilogue, Forsaken Kingdom combines exploration, mystery, supernatural horror, ruined gothic architecture, tragic royal history, and large-scale fantasy conflict. The novella was designed as a cinematic reading experience, supported by original illustrations that depict some of its most important moments — from Kael’s first view of the destroyed kingdom to his encounter with Queen Elira and the final confrontation with the ruler hiding within the ruins.
The completed illustrated edition contains 50 pages and presents the project as both a fantasy novella and a visual concept for a larger fictional universe.
Forsaken Kingdom is ultimately a story about inheritance, sacrifice, memory, and the question of whether a kingdom can truly be saved when the power that once protected it has become the source of its destruction.
