Ubisoft surprised Gamescom 2026 with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, a brand-new single-player tactical game set in the Rainbow Six universe.

Instead of the real-time shooting of Rainbow Six Siege, Tactics transforms the franchise into a turn-based strategy experience, with squad management, destructible environments and coordinated assaults.

🎯 COMMAND TEAM RAINBOW

For the first time, players take the role of Six, commander of Team Rainbow.

You will assemble squads of up to four operators and deploy them on missions around the world.

The game features 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege, including:

• 💥 Ash

• 🩺 Doc

• 🛡️ Montagne

• 🔨 Sledge

• 🛠️ Twitch

Each operator has their own gadgets, abilities and skill tree.

The action doesn’t begin when you enter the mission.

Your preparation takes place at Rainbow HQ.

Walls and other environmental elements can be destroyed to:

This means the environment itself becomes part of your tactical toolkit.

One of the game’s most interesting mechanics is Breach Planning.

Normally, combat is turn-based.

But when preparing a coordinated breach, you can plan the movements and actions of your entire squad before executing them together.

Four operators can storm an area simultaneously, recreating the explosive coordinated assaults that define Rainbow Six.

The campaign will take Team Rainbow across more than 45 locations worldwide.

📖 A NEW RAINBOW SIX STORY

The story takes place alongside the ongoing Rainbow Six Siege timeline, between Year 10 and Year 11.

A new global threat forces Team Rainbow to operate on a much larger scale, while the campaign follows Six / Paul Bishop as commander. Ubisoft Paris developed the game with members of the team responsible for titles including Mario + Rabbids and Ghost Recon.

🎬 GAMESCOM 2026 WORLD PREMIERE

Rainbow Six Tactics was officially unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026.

The reveal trailer showed the game’s turn-based combat, operator abilities and tactical planning systems.

Ubisoft has not yet announced an exact release date. The game is also planned for PC through Ubisoft Connect, Steam and Epic Games Store.

Importantly, Ubisoft has confirmed that Tactics is strictly single-player and will not use an in-game store or live-service monetisation model.
