Gamescom 2026: We’re Correcting Our Previous Day 4 Coverage
A quick correction from our Gamescom 2026 newsroom: some of our previous reports were incorrectly labelled as “Day 4” coverage. Here’s the correct timeline for this year’s event.
Gamescom is now in its third full day in Cologne, and with announcements, trailers and hands-on coverage arriving throughout the show, it is easy for the event schedule to become confusing.
However, we want to correct an error that appeared in some of our previous coverage.
The Correct Gamescom Timeline
The main Gamescom 2026 exhibition officially runs from 26 to 30 August.
The schedule is:
August 25 — Opening Night Live
The major opening showcase featuring announcements, trailers and new game reveals.
August 26 — Day 1
The first day of the main Gamescom exhibition.
August 27 — Day 2
August 28 — Day 3 — TODAY
August 29 — Day 4
August 30 — Day 5 / Final Day
That means Friday, August 28, is Day 3 of the main Gamescom event.
Why Did We Call It Day 4?
The confusion came from our previous decision to include Opening Night Live in the consecutive day count.
While Opening Night Live is an official part of the wider Gamescom programme, it takes place before the main five-day exhibition. For the purposes of our editorial coverage, we should therefore have treated August 26 as Day 1.
As a result, some of our previous reports were published with an incorrect “Day 4” designation.
What Does This Mean for Our Previous Reports?
Importantly, the correction does not invalidate the news itself.
The announcements, trailers, game reveals, presentations and other developments covered in those reports remain part of our Gamescom 2026 coverage. The issue concerns the day label and chronology, not the substance of the stories.
We are therefore correcting the relevant references and will continue our coverage using the official Gamescom schedule.
Gamescom 2026 Isn’t Over Yet
With Day 3 now underway, there is still plenty to come.
The show floor remains open through Sunday, August 30, with more developer presentations, interviews, gameplay demonstrations, announcements and surprises expected before Gamescom 2026 officially comes to an end.
We’ll continue to bring you the latest Gamescom news as it happens.
We apologise for the earlier confusion and thank our readers for their understanding.
Correction noted. Coverage continues.
